What Does a Trading Mentor Do and How Will This Help Me Make More Money?

A mentor is one who has gone before on the same path you are now following. A trusted counselor, guide, or tutor. There is no reason to stumble and fall when you have someone guiding you around the blocks in the road.

Do you want to become a better trader without losing your entire trading account in the process? A trading mentor can help you learn faster, with less money down the drain. Fewer mistakes means far fewer losing trades.

In reviewing two books that profile extremely successful traders (Market Wizards and Market Wizards II), there is a common theme The vast majority of these multi-millionaire traders speak highly of the one trader or mentor that taught them key principals and helped them to create their successful trading careers.

Many of these traders had the seeming advantage of working for brokerages or on Wall Street, but now you have the same advantage by being able to access the knowledge and experience of a professional trader from the privacy of your own home.

Your Program Designed for What You Want and Need

Your particular training will be designed based on our initial conversation with you (1-hour conference) and our review of your Trading Profile (answers to questionnaire). Ultimately, you are the one that will determine which areas you want to work on.

You may have a very clear picture of what you want, or you may just have a vague sense that something is missing. By having a successful trader to talk with, bounce ideas off, and generally having someone to answer your questions, you'll find you will quickly discover what is "missing" in your trading.

We tailor each individual's program to that individual. You are the only one that knows what areas you specifically want to work on. We make suggestions and will completely lead your training, or you may choose the areas you feel are causing the most trouble in your trading.

Psychological issues are dealt with separately. Some traders believe successful trading is 85% emotional and 15% the actual trading system. It is best to tackle emotional trading issues head-on. If you master your emotions, you will be able to accomplish anything you set your mind to, including trading.

With one-on-one telephone conferences (up to one hour per week), E-mail exchanges, written lessons and assigned homework (including analysis to do during market hours), you will find there is quite a lot to do each week. Here are some samples of the type of written materials we provide. Again, these were previously prepared for a specific individual and were written to address that person's level of trading expertise. Depending on your situation, there may be more or less of these written lessons.

The Mentoring Process - Step-by-Step

Once you have determined to schedule your mentor training and we have received payment, you training will begin as follows:

• Preliminary Analysis and Conferences

1. We first will send a detailed questionnaire which will help us to determine where you are and where you want to be as a trader. We will explore your trading personality, risk tolerance, financial status, current trading experience, the types of analysis you currently use and logistics, such as data vendors, software and the like.
   
   
2. Next, we will meet (via telephone) for a one-hour consultation where a plan of action will be established for the next 30 days.

• Trader Training Begins

1. At this point (after the initial telephone conference), your actual training (and 30 day time period) will begin.
   
   
2. We will send your first assignment and await your feedback. You will receive suggested exercises, indicators to plot, studies to review and any suggested reading.
   

• Ongoing Support and New Lessons

1. During each week as questions come up, you send them via e-mail. Our answers will include charts and more examples, when appropriate, or another lesson altogether. This process is completely individualized and entirely depends upon your current needs.
   
   No two traders are alike. This is why one-on-one mentoring is the ideal way to get the training you need when you need it. No other single program is more effective for actual, measurable results than mentoring.
   
   
2. Together we will explore new indicators (or analyze familiar ones), develop charting techniques, practice entry and exit methods, whatever your training and your needs dictate.
   
   
3. You have full on-going e-mail support at all times.
   
   
4. New tutorials and training materials are developed as soon as you are ready, so if you master a particular technique very quickly, you are able to move forward. By the same token, we emphasize practice. It is only by the diligent study and application of various trading techniques that you make them your own.
   

• Assessment, Evaluation and Results Analysis

  Weekly telephone conference. Once a week we will schedule a telephone meeting to discuss in depth that week's lessons (up to one hour per week). Are you achieving your goals?
